For over 20 years, the Chapin Gator has been the beloved symbol of this school’s athletics program.

The Challenge: The school needed to modernize their legacy mascot. The new Gator had to strike a tricky balance: fierce and strong enough for competitive sports, but friendly and approachable enough for younger kids. It also needed to be a scalable system—working just as well painted massively on a gym floor as it does embroidered tiny on a uniform.

The Solution: I created a dynamic, multi-pose illustration system for the Gator. The refined design captures athleticism and school spirit while remaining joyful and fun. Today, this cohesive visual identity lives everywhere—from the center of the gym floor and the mascot costume, to the web pages and team uniforms.
